Lifting using stock springs on adjustable 5100 shocks?

I am currently about to lift using 8 wraps in the rear.

My shop tells me I can lift using the stock springs up front in the adjustable bilstein tundra shocks?


Are there any disadvantages to this?

I did this. The rear is higher.

There will be about a 1.5 to 2 inch difference between the height front to rear.

There's nothing wrong and it rides just fine.

This is how mine sits. Im running 8 wraps in the rear and factory 1999 tall springs in the front with the bilstiens cranked up. Its right at 3" in the front, so I would count on 2" with normal springs. Tires are 255 85 16 (33.5)

really? because i've poured over this site and others like yotatech etc, i've never seen the topic of using stock springs, it always involves TRD springs etc...

i saw that before posting, however he is talking about using 5100 rears with his stock rear coils. I didn't want to hi-jack the thread by talking about my front, since the pros/cons would be different.

pretty sure its the top. Im also curious if throwing a 1 inch spacer in to the mix could help,

I don't have pics currently. I'll take some tomorrow. This is on a 1997 2wd limited. Stock front coils on the tundra 5100 at the max perch height, 8 wraps in the rear with junkyard 4th gen rear shocks. I did the lift as budget as possible. Still searching for tundra springs.

I tried adding the day star spacer and couldn't even fit the spacer and 5100 setup into the truck. If I could fit the whole setup with spacer in and adjust the perch height while it's on the truck it might work. But I haven't been able to find a tool that fits and would allow such adjustment. Or if I unbolted my whole front suspension I might have got it to fit. But I was doing this after hours at my old work so I didn't wanna stay late

Ground to fender flare height is

Front 36
Rear 37 3/4

Once I load it with storage and gear in the back it would likely drop. So that's likely the next plan. After my prp seat install
