Light Bulb For Ring Around Lighter??

Was changing some of my bulbs to LEDs. Broke the light bulb trying to get it out of the socket for the ring that lights up the area around the lighter. Totally destoyed the rest of the bulb digging the rest of it out of the socket.
I have no idea what type of bulb it was, didn't look like a 74 and the manual is not very specific.
Guess I could call Toyota but was wondering if anyone knew.

I had the same problem, it's not a #74, it's actually pressed into the little socket. Here's what I did, I got a prewired LED, and made my own bulb, soldered to the tips of the plug, and voila

That's a good idea. What type/number led is that and why did you leave the wires so long its a pretty compact area that it fits into if I remember right.

Also what resistors did you use and did you do a full LED conversion for all the buttons? the DAC looks awesome, I'm slowly working on that.

What I did was leave the base out of the cig lighter and use the pre-wired LED as the actual bulb. I put the base together and taped around it so that it would actually sit in the socket like a light bulb, I left them long because the resistor is in the wire, but also left myself just enough slack.

Also what resistors did you use and did you do a full LED conversion for all the buttons? the DAC looks awesome, I'm slowly working on that.

No resistors, that's why I bought the pre-wired LED, because it came with a resistor already in line. I used one of these for the cig lighter
