Light Racing UCAs (SPC Alignment) Cracked...

I purchased these UCAs back in 2012 and recently discovered on my driver's side a nice crack. I am fortunate that I was able to catch this before any serious damage might have occurred. I am a bit baffled as to how this might have happened being that I normally use my vehicle for on-road purposes.

I wanted to ask if any members that had or may have this setup experience anything like this. I am also curious to find out how SPC Alignment's warranty is when it comes to product defects/malfunction. If this unreliability is the case with their products, I may just bite the bullet and spend the cash on some uniball UCA from companies such as Camburg (Made in USA). Your input on this would be greatly appreciated. Thanks and Happy Holidays.

No persoanl experience, but there are a few threads where folks have experienced the same/close to the same problems with LR. One of the reasons they came off my list fast, quick and in a hurry.

wow the sidewall is pretty thin on those, looks lihe they are made from electrical conduit.

I did recently post somewhere on a Facebook group asking about these and remember hearing some feedback that cracking has occurred on some of their welds but nothing like this.

My recommendation would be to get in contact with @TotalAutomotiveLC while Black Friday/Cyber Monday deals are still going on. In my experience, they've beaten any other price I've seen.

From 2012, I'm guessing that your LR were the old version. They've since resolved the issue that was causing the breaks near/at the welds by replacing the old style bushings with "Spec Ride Bushings". They even have an update kit that they sell. You may want to contact SPC (Light Racing) to see if they'll cover a replacement.

Edit:
The old bushings would seize/bind and prevent the arm from traveling up or down, causing them to bend/break at the weakest link (usually the welds).
