Light Smoked LED Tail Lights Installed

Finally got my ebay taillights in the mail to complete the rear end, along with my clear 3rd brake brake light. I have achieved my goal of having not a single colored lens on the front and back of my truck.

Honestly loving this setup! For chinese ebay lights they look very good.

Does the 3rd brake light have a removeable bulb or integrated LEDs?

Yes but using an LED for the 3rd brake light without tapping in a resistor will cause the ABS to trip out (its on the same circuit as the rear ABS sensors)

I thought the same thing would happen, but I've driven about 150 miles no ABS light or issues. It may be a 2002 thing, or have something to do with the boards built into the tails.

I bought a red LED bulb for the new lense.

Have a link for that lense? I already have a LED bulb.

Same here, I've been running LEDs in the OEM tails for several years then did the 3rd brake light July 2019 and my cruise control and ABS function fine. No warning lights or codes.

I see those Ebay lights often around here as I think NorCal is officially the 4Runner mecca of the world. Normally they don't look all that great but because you have the two-tone silver and blue so everything is cool colored, it looks pretty good. Did you find a replacement for the yellow corner markers too or is that wishful thinking?

Here's the clear 3rd brake http://https://klearz.com/1996_4runner_clear_3rd_brake_lens My buddy got it for me for my bday. You'll have to reuse your plastic housing and use a razor on the old foam material to keep a water seal.

Yes! You can get the clear markers and amber bulb from srq fabrications or lower quality ebay ones.

Get some chromed incandescent or LED turn signals on there and it'll be even better (well, for your purposes - I don't generally like that look...).

I put chromed amber bulbs on most of my vehicles, even the ones I don't 'mod'...

I was thinking about chrome bulbs but i didn't see the reason the spend 20 bucks on em and wait for shipping.

Oh cool, didn't know Klearz made a lens. How difficult was it to seperate the OEM lens?

Yeah klearz just released the new lense a couple months ago after i emailed asking about it.

Separating the lense is easy just a couple screws, the harder part is not destroying the water seal so you can reuse it.

Oh it's a complete brake light assembly, I though it was just the lense LOL
