Lightbar on top or below my FrontRunner Rack?

What do you all think, should I install the lightbar (Baja Designs Onx6 40") above or below the rack? If I go below, then I would just have to remove the wind deflector.

What light pattern did you get? If it is more for seeing right in front of you put it on top for a better angle. If it is for seeing further out put it below. I personally think below looks better and if you ever have something extending beyond the front of the rack (ex: kayak, plywood, etc.) you won't have something blocking that.

I have the Dual Control version which has both white and amber lights, which is the Driving/Combo and Wide Driving

You may end up with a loud whistle if you mount it under. They sell these fins that help reduce the noise though.

Who sells fins, Baja Designs or FrontRunner? There is a Wind Deflector included with the FrontRunner rack, and it's possible I could mount it behind the light bar but not sure if that would accomplish much. They also sell rubber inserts which I heard can help a bit, but not sure if it still works when you have a light bar in front. I heard putting some in the first few extrusions helps, not sure if on top or below. With sunroof open I do hear a whistle from light bar at certain speeds, but with sunroof closed I don't hear it.

I definitely like it below! I agree with [MENTION=131736]T4RZAN[/MENTION] having it below does open some additional possibilities for putting something oversized on top, but just aesthetically it seems to work for me. Once I hook up the electrical I will check the beams to make sure it lights well from that position.

I'm also wondering if their ARC series would help a bit pushing air out to the sides (and of course getting wider light spread).

Not sure, I have not seen enough curved lights out there to really make a judgment on how I felt about them. I have not seen many on here with them either. I would be curious as to how it looks and performs. I could have easily gotten the ARC but didn't want to be a guinea pig , I know the Onx6 is solid.

Also I got dual control because if you just change lenses on the side to look like I have mine configured, thats not going to be ideal. When you want spot, you may not want yellow. And when you want yellow, you probably definitely don't want spot (Snow, Fog, Dust Storm). So if you want two beam patterns then you really want dual control, which of course means two relays, two switches, etc. I bought their expensive as hell wiring harness originally but since i have a SPOD I sent it back, all I need is to run power, ground and a basic control line which I can hook to a momentary switch.
