One of the orange lights that light up the temperautre control button on my dads 2006 went out. Is that an LED or a regular bulb? Of so, how hard is it to replace on your own? Thanks for the help!

I would think it is an LED, atleast they are on my 05 and the systems didnt change much from 05 to 06. They are easy to access. Pull the cubby holder located below to a/c unit out. This is accomplished by opening the cubby and by gently pulling up. It should simply pop out. Once this is done there is one screw below to a/c unit that holds it in place. Once this screw is removed gentley pull the a/c unit towards you, it will also pop out. Unhook the wiring harness on the back, the leds are the gray tabs located on the back of the unit behind each round control. Only a quarter to half turn is required to unlock them. Once out the LED must be unwrapped from the plastic base. The new LED should then be rewired into the base. Once this is done put everything back in together.

Hi Mark. These are actually lamps Toyota #90010-09015 all the info is HERE

Thanks a lot for all of the info. Would this be covered undr the Toyota extended warranty? When I called the dealer, they said that if it is an LED it is covered. Of course, they had no idea what the part number was or what kind of bulb. Also, only one button on the entire dial is out.

Is this a similar method that I could use on my '97? I need to get the lights working on my whole center column.

Thanks,
jamie

I had two go out last month, they were $3.20 each and I had to order them through the dealer. Once you remove the climate control unit, the bulbs just twist out using a thin flathead screw driver. Took me about 10 min to replace both bulbs.
