Lightweight A/T M/T tires, tires & wheels

I'm looking to upgrade my tires or wheels & tires... 17s to some all terrains or mud terrains but I want ones that are lightweight & not heavy. Right now I currently have the oem 17" wheels & regular highway tires. Anybody got some lightweight all terrain or mud terrain tires they recommend & are these oem wheels I have pictured pretty heavy? If so, any recommendations on some lightweight 17s on the wheels too?

Look at the tire ratings. You want C Rated, not E rated MT's.

Also, try to get them road forced balanced instead of regular balancing. There are many C rated MT's out there, just look.

As for wheels, though not needed, make sure you are looking at a rim/wheel with the correct bolt pattern. Once you have that, you can shop around and look online for the lightest rim in that bolt pattern. Then make your decision from there. Good luck.

The stock SR5 wheels weigh in a tad under 30 pounds, I believe. There are certainly lighter options out there. However, finding a A/T or an M/T, even in P metric form, that will be lighter than a highway tire may prove challenging due to the (usually) stiffer/reinforced sidewalls of the former selections. If you plan to off-road your vehicle at all, a lighter tire will likely be more prone to sidewall punctures. How do you plan to use your vehicle?

Cooper Discovery AT3 p-metric aren't too heavy IIRC.

I don't plan on offroading at all lol I baby my truck too much... just looking for a more aggressive look & to make the truck a little higher seeing that A/T & M/T tires add a little height

The Konig wheels are nice and light; right around the 20lb mark. Tough too.
I run the Countersteer X.

Goodyear MT/R's, BFG KM2's and Cooper STT's are the lighter options for MT's and you'll probably be ~ the 75-80lb mark per corner with a 285/70-17 depending on load rating.

Go with an AT, which it sounds like you probably should, and you'll certainly be weighing in at less than that. Mind you, some AT's (like new Falken AT3W) are pretty damn heavy, so you might want to stick with something like a BFG K02 or a Cooper AT3.
