Limited external temperature sensor fried?

So I cleaned my outside temperature sensor from my limited 3rd gen with a MAF cleaning spray, hoping to get more accurate readings, the thing is the sensor is now displaying a fixed 18-19°C on the climate control unit (even with the sensor unplugged), I checked the conector and there is no humidity, is it possible that the sensor is busted? What intrigued me is the fact that the unit can read temperature with the sensor unplugged I was expecting the ( -- ) on the display
