Limited gauges

I read some where that the gauges in the Limited are differennt that the SR5 and Sport Edition. Will someone post pics of there tach, speedo, gas lit up at night?

Yes they are different. When I test drove a 4runner is was a limited, I ended buying a sport model. I really liked the needles much better on the limited. If I remember the ends of the needles are lit in red, I think.

I like the way the red dot on the perimeter folows the needle around. Light shoots out the end of the pointer.

Do the 2004's all have lighted needles? I think the 2003 SR5 and Sport don't have the red needle, but all trim lines for 2004 do??

I have a 2k4 SR5 and I've never noticed the red dot, but other than that the gauges are identical.

When my headlights are on, I do not have that green light bulb on my dash on my 03 Sport. I think that is also something different on the Limiteds too.

Here are my 04 SR5 guages (in daytime). The only differences I notice are the lack of a red dot, and then the silver painted areas on the inside of the speedo and outside of speedo and tach. Also I do have the little light bulb that lights up when the headlights are on.

They also stay lit when the lights are off. Cool in tunnels and parking garages.

Rando, that is weird because it looks like the same exact speedometer as mine. That green light bulb must be a little change for 2004. Here is a picture of mine with the headlights on:

Green light is for headlights. There is a separate blue indicator right next to it for high beams.

Here is the green bulb. It's strange that the 03 wouldn't have this light. I think when you first turn the key to the ACC position, all the lights on the instrument panel light up briefly. Do you see the green light then?

I just went to check my car, and it's not there. I aimed a flashlight on my gauges and could clearly see all the indicator lights, but the "light bulb" indicator is not there. It's probably a 2004 model thing. I have seen the light on a coupe of Lexus's though.

Maybe this is due to the Gauge "fix" that came out. People were complaining that the gauges were hard to read in the daylight, and so a TSB was offered, which basically kept the gauges lit at all times. This may have been adopted for all 2004's. Thus requiring some sort of signal that headlights are indeed on. People could just assume that headlights are on since the gauges were lit. I'll have to look for that red dot though on my 2003 Sport...

I hate to break it to you guy's

But, I think Toyota has saved the best for it's domestic market.

Here are what mine look like. The first is without flash at full brightness, yes the instrument cluster has an adjustable brightness control. My camera wants to take a delayed exposure because of the low light so I can't get a good focus.

I have a green headlight for lights. The Blue headlight is brights. I also have the 4WD light for high and low 4 and a yellow for center diff locked. My SSR-G Surf is the stateside equivalent of a Limited.

thats a nice looking blue color. is that color only on the hilux verions?
