Limited Lift to preserve XREAS

I'm probably going to buy a second 4Runner soon and the LE with its AWD seems best suited to icy, snowy Colorado mountains. I've been doing research and reading threads and was looking for a lift that lets me put on 285s that doesn't gut the XREAS in case I want to revert it to OEM and sell it down the road.

Is a spacer lift my best choice in this situation? Daystar seems to be the one being quoted most.

And have you had good experience with the front tires rubbing? I had to chop my 2013 TE KDSS to fit meaty off road 285s.

I assume that there's no need for any recalibration following a lift like with a KDSS model?

The reason I mentioned 285s is that I have 3 sets of tires for my TE in the garage, so it would save me $$$ not to have to buy new rubber.

I have Toytec 2.5 spacers. 275 ko2. It's pretty tight with FN Fx wheels.

The rears withe spacers and XREAS ride pretty harsh. I am just going to drive it until I have at least 59K on the odometer. Then I can justify a new suspension.

That sucks.

Plan B is an ICON lift.

The LE T4R is still 4WD like any other 4Runner, not AWD.

I installed an OME lift and simply disconnected the XREAS. if done correctly, you don't have to drain the entire system and can keep it intact.

I have 285 Nitto Ridge Grapplers C load on mine with minor fender liner trimming.

I hope this helps

I'm no expert on all of this, but will spacers give more room for tires or do they just make the rake look more balanced?

Do you need to do anything more than more than mudflap/liner mod to fit 285s on the LE? (I assume you've got 17" wheels already).

Looks like the project will be more involved and require a body mount chop, removal of the XREAS, and ICON lift install due to the fact that I can't get enough height. Not something I want to do with a new vehicle.

May just even out the rake with a spacer and put some 265s on my revolver TE wheels until the warranty expires or something breaks.
