Limited NAV Phone Voice Commands

When making a phone call using the voice commands, I have to go through at least 4 menu items (phone, call by name, name, yes). Has anyone figured out how do this more quickly such call "Call John Mobile"

You can start with dial by name or number right off the bat. Usually I'm calling people I know their number by heart anyway, so I usually go to Dial by Number, say it, then yes. It would be a crapload easier if it would just automatically assume the phone is the priority function

Some navs allow one command such as Phone John Mobile or Call John Home. I did not see a way in the manual to make a phone call with one command. Rather, I only saw a multi step process when calling by name.

Has anyone had issues with some of the command prompts? Just recently my bluetooth has been stuck in the "talking" or "listening" function.

I press the talk button and say "Dial by number" and the lady says "Pardon?"

This has only been an issue for the last 2 days.

Any thoughts?

Does it reset when you restart the vehicle. Occasionally mine hangs, but will always fully reset when I restart the car.

I have not yet experienced any lockup type issues while using mine and I use it a lot. Are you able to recreate the issue or is it just random?

When I have my Bluetooth enabled on my blackberry and someone calls or I make a call, it works correctly.

Where I'm running into problems is when I press the talk key, and try to say "Dial by Number" all its says is pardon? and then immediately turns the radio back on.

Starting May 2010 (the month I bought my T4R), my Blackberry World links up fine. No problems until a month ago. Now when the Blackberry links up, it goes to "talking" mode. If I call someone and then hang up, the music comes on. If someone calls me, the phone rings, but the bluetooth speaker and microphone only kick in when I answer my phone manually.

And the volume suddenly got VERY loud.

What happened? Hay-elp.

I haven't had any noticeable problems with my bluetooth/voice commands. This is with a Palm treo pro running on the archaic windows 6.1. I would say try and see if you can find another phone to test with and then try to narrow it down to either buggy software on the phone or the 4runner.

What you could possibly do (might work) is to delete the connection between the phone from the nav screen and do the same on the phone. Then pair it up again like the first time you got the truck.
