Hey guys!

Im looking at getting a 3rd Gen 4R and I am not sure what the differences are between the SR5 and the Limited other than leather. I want to make an informed decision and would appreciate some information and opinions.

The plan would to upgrade the suspension, tires, probably install a winch, roof rack etc. It will be a outdoor 4x4ing, going snowboarding, camping getting dirty type truck all while looking good!!!

Thanks for the help :gun4:

I think that other than leather it depends on the year as my SR5 has a sunroof, power windows and such, you may be looking at heated seats and automatic but again I think it depends 96-98, 99 or 2000-02. Someone who is more of an expert will chime in and define it better for you. Either way based on what you are going to use it for find one with the factory locker!!

That's a sweet post above!!!!

The limited basically has everything standard but a few options (mainly rear diff lock). I always recommend to get limited because in the resale market it costs very little over an SR5. However if the features arent that important to you than getting the nicest condition 4runner on your budget may be more important.

Early 96-96 years limited adds: standard leather, wood trim, large flares, push button 4 hi, and power seats.

99-2000 over SR5- multimode 4wd, wood, auto a/c, large flares, power seats, std. leather

01-02- auto ac, heated seats, large flares, power seats, wood, std. leather

I looked at a sequioa not too long ago that was a limited.. it had a factory rear sag/suspension switch that raised or lowered the rear depending on what was going on back there... pretty sharp... I agrees with the above poster... I bought an SR5 but when i get my seq.. it's going to be a limited..

Got one of each, both 2000 year.

Other than leather, etc, the Ltd also has a chipped key, which means you have to buy a $50 blank and have it programmed at the dealer vs. a $5 blank at the hardware store.

Oh yea, and the auto climate control system in the Ltd which is really nice.

That's about it...
