Limited Rear Bumper Dings

One thing I've noticed is that the Black plastic on top of the rear bumper that protects it against cargo does not extend to the edge of the bumper. There is a small bit between the chrome strip and the black where it is just paint/bumper. Of course now I have some chips taken out because of cargo I've drug out the back.

Anyone else had an issue with this? I'm surprised they (Toyota) didn't extend that protection to the edge.

I have the same problem, I have never slid cargo along the bumper. I hope its not a paint issue.

Found that out the hard way this weekend taking luggage out. Just barely brushed that little un-protected area and took some paint off. I will hit it with a little touch-up paint later, but yes, very annoying it does not go to the end.

Man that sucks. Luggage is what got mine as well. If I were to use the sliding cargo deck, then anything on the back of it would fall into the hole it would leave.

Let me know how the touch up paint works on it. I need to go buy some.

In my SR5 with the sliding rear cargo deck, I have no problems. Not sure what "hole" you are talking about. I think the purpose of the sliding cargo deck is to help prevent the damage discussed here. In my case at least, it works great!
