Limited running board fit SE?

I've got a 2004 4Runner with the black running boards. I would like to put the color-matched lighted running boards off of a Limited, but don't know if they would fit.

Anyone know?

Running boards

Thanks to Chris, I have switched my black running boards with the silver Limited ones - the size of the running boards and the mounting brackets are identical.

Installing and de-installing is easy - just 2 bolts per bracket, 6 brackets total (3 on each side).

I have not done the wiring for the light - the Limited has a circular rubber seal near the middle bracket with a wire connector which the SEs don't have.

Where did you get it? Did you do a swap? Or did you buy them some where? Where?

Are you going to hook up the lights?

I would love to do this mod, but I'm not sure where the best place is to get the running boards, and who can do the wiring.

Silver Running Boards

I posted a thread on this forum in the classified section and I got a request from a Limited owner who wanted to swap my black running boards with his.

Your best bet is to do this for several reasons:
- As of now, Toyota does not have a kit for painted, lighted running boards that are on the Limited, which is why the parts-department usually is unfamiliar about it. If you can get a price quote, it is in the neighborhood of $600-$800 per board.
- I'm guessing there are more 4Runner owners like the one I swapped with that have a black 4Runner and want black running boards.
- You retain factory quality compared with most aftermarket brands.

I will get back to you on the wiring - I'm hesitant to ask the dealers who asked $300-$1000 for just the running board swap.

Wiring Limited Running Board to Sport/SR5

Here is the factory installation manual for lighted running boards, which includes the wiring for the lights (applicable for Sport/SR5 models only - Limited already comes pre-wired).
