Limited Silver emblems vs. Limited Gold Emblems

I have two 4runners. Both are same year with all identical options. However, I purchased one limited with all silver emblems, and I got another limited with all gold emblems. I dont see the difference in these two at all. Can anyone tell me why there are two different limited packages?

I grew up in an area with a large Portuguese immigrant population. They loved the gold emblems and would go to many length to get them.

The gold emblems are not installed by the factory, but they are available as a genuine Toyota accessory through dealers. It's very likely that a dealer debadged it and swapped the silver for gold.
