Limited trim and SR5 mudflaps

Hey all, I've been searching high and low for a thread that specifically states whether or not you can use these front mudguards 4Runner Mudguard PT413-35966-DF

on a Limited body. I'd have to imagine yes, but I don't want to be wrong.

I'm FINALLY going to remove my running boards and put the mudguards on. It's just taken a while to muster up the time and money.

No- those mudguards will not line up properly with your Limited's flares.

I've been wrong before so check with other folks and get their opinions. But the linked part in your posting states -only for SR5 models -which had either chrome fender trim or SR5 black flares.
 
Thanks! I got a reply from Jacques at the parts place too. He said no go on those ones, but doesn't know about a part number for ones that would work.

Plan B I suppose would just be to leave the front cap from the running boards on, eh?

Then paint the fronts to match or take the factory rears off and make em black.

I highly doubt you will ever find front mudflaps that will work with the limited trim and be in your factory color. Especially considering the amount of trim colors on the limited's over the years.

I would have no problem getting them painted to match, if they were paintable material. These don't look to be paintable, in that the paint would come off and look like crap before long. I was hoping to find an OEM solution, but it doens't appear there was one, so this might be the way to go even if they are black.

I think you could paint the mudflaps. They're pretty stiff, so I think they'll resist chipping for a bit. Just scuff em up real good and go to town! I think them painted to match would look a lot cleaner on your Runner since it's a two-tone scheme.

Bumping this thread, I bought those mudflaps, and pulled the running boards off last night. The Surf widebody flares MUST be different from the Limited's, as these were not even close to fitting like shown in the link. I'll try and get some pics up shortly.

On the plus side, I do like the look of no running boards!
 
I've also preformed the SportRunner mod and think it looks nearly as good as factory. Heck, I even started a thread about it.

Grabbed some pics to show what I mean, they just don't come close to fitting the way the pics in these threads do. Does anyone have these angles of the Limited flares with the mudflaps off I can compare to?

I don't have a pic, but our flares look like they taper in more at the base. You might be better suite with a flat flap that you can screw to the inside of your well.

That's what you get for being all fancy with your SURF! :banana:

For the record, I would LOVE to have that problem.

I'm afraid you may be right, flat flaps for me, lol.
 
Argh, that's dissapointing. I have those flaps on the way right now. Bought em off eBay as I couldn't find any in Canada. I have the same setup as you. I was just going to go with the flat flaps since they are easy to find but I figured I'd go the extra step and make it clean. There goes $35.
 
I tried those Highland Contour flaps with my Bushwackers. Similar to the sport flares the fitment was off.

I bought some black rubbery carpet runner material from Lowe's and fabbed up some ghetto looking front mudflaps. At present I only have them on my drivers side front but need to spend more time before I put them on the passenger side front.

I used existing body bolts that hold the Bushwackers in place under the fender. It's a start but not the best looking solution yet.
