Line-X Bumpers and Fenders

Hey there. Just joined the forum, I came from the TundraTalk forum as I previously had a 2007 Tundra and traded it in for a 2014 4Runner. I have done my first major mod and wanted to share for those who are curious as to what Line-Xd bumpers look like on a 2014. Local Line-X place had the vehicle for 2 days and charged me $500 cash. I was going to attempt to vinyl wrap the front bumper, but with all of the curves and sharp edges, it would be a nightmare. So, Line-X was the next best thing. Color matching was an option, but at $800, I stuck with the black. I love the 2 tone and never have to worry about rock chips in the front or scratching the rear bumper getting things in and out of the back. If you have any questions, please let me know!

May sound crazy but a matching line-x stripe down each side on the lower half rocker and across the rear gate that connected the line from front bumper to rear would look cool.

Looks great. I have the front and rear done on my 3rd gen and it is bullet proof and have been thinking about doing the fender flares on my 5th. Do you know if they removed the fender flares to spray or just taped it off?

Doesn't sound crazy at all. I am going to be getting some red and black vinyl and wrapping the rest of the vehicle. I am just not sure how I want to do it yet. I have thought about some type of 2 tone like you mentioned. I will definitely post once that is complete, just need to wait for warmer weather.

The fenders were completely removed, not taped off. There are a few screws and a bunch of plastic clips that hold them on. They replaced all of the clips in the process.

Here are a few pics for you. Its nice knowing I wont have to worry about scratching the rear bumper. It looks like it would be easy to do. I also had the piece above the license plate done as well.

Thought about it, but I am just going to vinyl wrap those red. I like the color match on the mirrors and after some thought, I didn't want to go black.

I like your thinking.... My plan is to get the red and black vinyl and figure out how to wrap the rest of the vehicle as far as what I want to be red and what I want to be black. I will be getting some wheels, but probably a set of FJ or Tacoma wheels and powder coating them. I want to stay with an OEM wheel as I had a terrible experience with after market wheels balancing and alignment issues. Definitely some off road tires and a leveling kit. That's the plan, just need more money! But don't we all....

I like the FJ wheels because they are 1/2 wider and have a 1/2 more offset.

Love the look, especially with the color of your vehicle. Never have to worry about scratches for sure.

Just checking in on this... you still happy with the Line-x and how is it holding up?
I am really thinking about doing this, but the shops near me want about $1040 to do it plus $140 and hour to remove/reinstall all the parts. Also a little worried about anyone trying to get those fenders flares off and back on correctly.
