How many gallons for a complete exterior on a gen3 4runner using the Monsterliner?

I'd guess order 2 gallons. I did my whole Jeep with roughly a gallon inside and out. 2 gallons would be plenty. The pricing is kind of odd. A quart is nearly as much as a gallon after shipping. I will say order more rollers, they die quickly. Also aim for a somewhat humid day with temps below 80 or so. This stuff dried way to fast when I did it on a day that had 80 degree morning temps and 100 degree afternoon temps. It was completely dry by that night. It goes quick.

I ordered the 2-gallon kit and still have the entire second gallon sitting in the house. When I get a decent weekend off I plan on doing the roof and touching up some small areas around the windows. I'd say the 2-gallon kit would be perfect for the entire exterior of a 3rd gen.
*It does take a while, which I found out the hard way. Brother and I started drinking and figured we'd knock it out before dark... well a 5-6 hour drying period in between coats (the temp dropped 25 degrees as soon as the sun started to dip) really slowed it down. Good luck!

Did you just apply it right over your existing clear coat or did you sand and prep the surface? Has it cracked or peeled at all?

Pretty strait forward basic paint prep, scuffed the clear coat and taped off the areas that weren't going to be painted. Mixed the Monstaliner and started rolling! was actually a very easy job, just time consuming since you have to let the first coat dry a bit before applying the second coat. I did it the "easy" way i guess you could say, I've seen others that disassembled the entire truck and sprayed it on but I didn't have access to a compressor to spray it and decided on rolling it on. There are definitely some imperfections when you get up close to my truck but that was all my fault. If you really take your time and do it, it is a very good alternative IMHO then getting your truck repainted. Much more durable then paint from what I've been reading.

Perfect thanks bud. I've done the rattle can stuff on my bumpers and limited cladding and over time it has begun to chip and fade away. I was looking for something longer lasting with minimal touch ups and this looks like what I'll be doing. I know spraying is better but I think I'll roll on as well as I don't have access to sprayer

It is pretty easy to do with just an orbital sander and some loose sandpaper, if you are cutting corners, budget-wise. I used 300 grit I think to remove clear coat and 400 between coats (for spray paint, N/A for liner). Invest in good masking tape, dont waste your time with painters tape, it won't hold well to the glass and you don't want this stuff on glass etc.

Clearcoat was shot to begin with, that's why I opted to repaint it.
I highly recommend the Monstaliner if you are sticking to a budget. I haven't heard of any issues with fading. As with all paint jobs, prep is 95% of the end result.

So can monstaliner be tinted to pretty much any color? As in...tinted to OEM Toyota Cement Grey?

Not sure.. I would go to their site or maybe contact them about custom colors. Their site does offer multiple colors you can buy with their kits.
