Why are the Driver and front passenger seats the only ones with the liquicell technology?

It's most likely an aftermarket leather kit installed at port or by the dealer. I'm 99% sure it's not factory. If I recall, I think it's usually Toyota's distributed by Southeast or Gulf States Toyota.

Liquicell is the seat heater technology that the Southeast Toyota ports install on SR5's/Sports at the port, it's not the leather itself. They're only available on the front two seats because most people don't need seat heaters in the back.

Really??!! From browsing my local Toyota dealership, i could swear that Liquicell is the type of padding that the leather has to provide comfort (basically a thin layer of gel under the leather...kinda like those Dr. Schollls insoles). In other words, the leather that is installed at the port (NOT factory) has this "technology." At least, this is what i thought i read from the little brochure that is attached to the seat.

My bad, you're right. I could've sworn I read somewhere that the Liquicell was the seat heater technology.

Now I have no idea why only the front seats would have them.

My guess is that the port farms it out to a local installer.
