i would also recommend a 2" spacer lift. I'm sure you can buy the kit with new shocks for around $300.
i just helped my friend install one on his jeep - real easy to install yourself (neither one of us had ever done anything like that before)
it won't perform as well as the Old Man Emu (OME), but if your on a tight budget you can get that small bit of lift and clear bigger tires.
but if you have the money, definately go with the OME lift. I have the shocks that OME uses (the Nitrochargers) and they are amaizing.

IMO, I'd stay away from spacers. They will make the ride harsher and will handle like crap. Do it right the first time. If you don't have enough right now, save up.

Actually, no. If you go with the OME 881/906 N86C/N91SC combo, your ride will be pretty comfortable (the "C" in the shock model denotes "Comfort", which are a bit more plush). You might actually find it more plush than stock.
If you tow or haul a lot, I'd go with 890 or 891 out back.

Please avoid spacers! They're cheap and pretty easy to install, but will cause your stock springs to sag very quickly. I did the Daystar 2.5" kit and ended up sagging to around 1" of lift front and rear.
I ended up doing the OME/Land Cruiser coils and got ~3" of lift in the front and just under 4" in the rear. My fronts are OME 882 coils with the N91SC comfort shocks. My rear lift are 1995 Land Cruiser coils with Rancho RS5000 shocks. Ride is firm and controlled, not at all harsh. My whole kit ran ~$550. I was able to get almost everything from trdparts4u.com, except the 1" diff drop. They're great people to work with! Talk to Gerone for a great deal!
