Since I am sure taking xpel back off after years of application it will take paint with it I would just roll monstaliner in your factory color and call it a day. It will cost less than a quarter of what you are paying and it will look more aggressive.

btw I have this stuff installed on my NSX and it's fantastic. I don't ever see a need to remove it since its not parked in the sunlight every day and it's meant to protect a very expensive paint job.
On my 4Runner though it is my daily and I'd rather not get rock chips / scratches all over the front end if I'm wheeling or driving on the freeway.

You're right it's not the 90s. And paints come in all kinds of trixy type stuff now too.
Note I didn't do my door jambs. I simply ordered stock tint and bam.....pretty good match and I'd put it up against the plastic any day of the week.
Bedliner is pretty much any color you want and if it's on for 10 years it will be the same removal process as that ruined plastic wrap. Rocks will eat that stuff off road.
Don't get me wrong for a street toy I understand why. Pretty paint wants to be seen. You mentioned the word "wheeling" with your 4runner. That stuff will not stand up to trails.

Yea not wheeling in the extreme sense.... Its my daily driver. I'm more concerned about rock chips and scratches. I don't drive it off road that much to really warrant bedliner on the paint on a brand new truck with less than 4k miles on it! haha it might be cool to do on my old 95 patfhinder though
I chose clear-pro.com to do the install on site tomorrow. I'll report back on my findings. They have great reviews so we'll see how it turns out!

I wheel my 98 and it's my dd. Even if you do expedition style stuff like I do and not extreme stuff you can still pick up rocks and branches. After prepping the front end I found a few small rock chips already :violin:
Sooo I'm hoping that the XPEL will help avoid further wear on the front clip...
I do like the self healing properties though which is amazing! :50cal:

$1500 is ridiculous.
It wouldn't cost more than $750 to paint that front bumper.

It's not $1500 to do just the bumper. Its to cover the entire front end. Bumper, headlights, fog lights, fenders, fender flares, hood & side mirrors. It has already saved the bumper from tons of rock chips from my last road trip and the amount of bugs that were massacred on the freeways, it made it really easy to clean up without being afraid to scratch the paint.
