Locked glove box...i think with valet key!!!

what a wy to welcome in the new year!!!

bought my truck used, and it only had 1 key {black], i succesfully cut 1 transponder key and programmed last year....

fast forward to yesterday...i was at the repair place, and i locked my glove box, cos of some valuables i had in there.....tried opening it later...n it wudnt budge...........

only though that comes to my mind is that the key i have is a valet key, which can only lock, but cant unlock!..
am i totally screwed?.........and m not in the Usa, so the dealer cutting new keys wouldnt work, has thi happened to anybody before and how did they resolve this

though i would update, incase this happens to anyone:
i managed to pry open the glovebox with a flat screw driver, once it was open i used the screw driver to push the locks/tumblers back, while jiggling the key in the lock, thi unlocked the mechanism, and i can close and open the glove box now

My lock failed, in locked mode, some years ago. After my destruction derby to get it open, I wound up buying a new g box door ($$$) and eliminating the lock set. Looks stock, key goes in, but nothing for it to do.

Be more careful than I was.
