From the way the guy kept losing his footing and literally sliding down the ramp on his feet, it looks like that ramp had some algae. He would have been fine had he not let the truck slide backwards and let the rear wheels go into the water. The exhaust pipe was even in the water. Anytime that happens then, yeah, you definitely need 4-wheel drive. Basically, it was operator error. Launch deep; load shallow.

I think everyone has had a bad day at the launch, i.e. rough winds, bump on dock, drag the skeg because of forgetting to lift drive, etc. As the captain though one should be aware of his/her gear.

Clearly a 2WD wasn't going to cut it. Should have gone in more shallow, let the boat run on the bunks...

Those are the times that I love the AWD on the 4.7L
