Just deposited my first paycheck today, and I now have enough money to buy an amplifer and new speakers. Put a bid on ebay for the new amplifer, and decided to hold off on the speakers until I get some more money so I can have some money in my bank for emergency.

Guess what, I come home today like an hour ago, was still a little bit buzzed, and went ahead and bought brand new JL XR650CSi off sonicelectronix. Could've saved $40 buying it off ebay. but sonic offers a 1 year warranty. Should I get a refund from sonic and buy it off ebay?

God, I really need to close my wallet adn start saving, I always spend what I have haha

1) don't surf online stores with a buzz and your wallet handy It's like bringing your debit/credit card INTO the casino with you. Take out your cash and leave the cards in the car dude...otherwise you WILL use them.

2) find out if the 1 year warranty is only valid if the speakers are installed by an authorized installer/dealer. When you find out that answer, you'll know what's the best thing to do.

Glad to see you making some cash but I think that sonic electronix do not Replace products just repair them but not to sure about that. Most online retailers almost do the same, if they can't fix it they'll just direct you to the manufacture anyway. Regardless, just about all products will have one warranty from the manufacture and that's why online retailers can give you that warranty, it's not like buying at BestBuy and you can just bring back so if you see it cheaper elsewhere go for it. And ---ahhh how did you get 2000 4runner if you just got your 1st paycheck? Never mind don't want to know....just keep rockin........peace.......

jl audio wont offer no warranty thru internet perchases, so if ur shit aint workin then ur screwed, and plus sendin shit back and forth cost money, juss to let u noe, that if u buy audio equipment, go to the store and get it.

IMO: if you buy a reputable product, you shouldn't "expect" to have anything go wrong with it. That being said, by buying online, you are basically gambling that the product will perform flawlessly and you won't need to repair/service it - that gamble is the tradeoff for purchasing the product so low on the net. I buy reputable products on the web only, and never pay the inflated retail store prices.

For what it's worth:
I bought a set of new 6.5 coax Infinity Kappas about 5 years ago on ebay, and one of the tweets blew almost immediately, through no fault of my install or use. (might have been a bad Xover). I wrote Infinity, told them the problem and also that I bought online from an unauthorized online distributor, and asked what they could do for me. They sent me a brand new pair in the mail in 1 week, no questions asked.

It's that kind of customer service that makes me a repeat customer, as I now have Kappas all around my 4R as of yesterday afternoon.
