Ok Toyota lovers, the Lone Star Toyota Jamboree 2011 is scheduled for Jan. 14-16, 2011, at the Barnwell Mountain Recreation Area in Gilmer, Texas. This event is sponsored by the Toyota Trail Riders of Texas. Look at the photos I posted from last year and you will see how much fun we had. I'll definitely be there with The_Mrs. and a bunch of the usual suspects.

These guys really throw a great event every year. There is always a big raffle, lots of food and beer, and a great band saturday night.

There will be lots of trail runs, from beginner all the way to extreme. I'll probably lead a couple myself... and maybe an instructional one for guys pulling trailers if there is sufficient interest.

Digger will bring the RTI ramp so you can see where you flex out.

There will be a rock crawl competition. Its always open for participants, and don't worry, there IS an IFS category.

There will be several of the Toyota offroad gurus there. Last year the roster included Marlin from Marlin crawler, Bud from Budbuilt, Jason from Demello Offroad, and Russ from Baertrax, among others. If you want to meet some of the movers and shakers of the Toyota offroad community, they will be there.

There will be plenty of very experienced guides leading trail runs. There will be plenty of opportunity to learn and test the limits of your truck, all with the most experienced Toyota mechanics in the world there to help you fix your junk if you break it.

TRDParts4U is always a major sponsor, and they will have plenty of stuff for sale and raffle.

Looking forward to seeing lots of new faces driving 4Runners out there.

Hey Mr. Leary, ...., I've done a few more mods since January. The 2010 one this year was my first to attend, and I have to say it is well worth going and meeting some of the "movers and shakers" in the Toyota off-road community. Like Mr. Leary said, this is very well organized, the work-shops and talking to the vendors are helpful, the food and fellowship is great, great band, and the guided trail-rides were a blast, even in the muck and mud.

You can't go wrong with this event. Just make sure you bring blankets and rain gear, and not be worried about getting muddy.

Well I was out there on Friday, and part of the day on Saturady (left early as the guys that came with me had had enough of the cold and rain) I will admit, It does make the wheeling quite a bit harder with that slick mud they have out there. Anyways, I was on the lookout for y'all, but never ran across you guys.

But you guys may have seen me if you were at the raffle after dinner on Friday....yep I was the guy that won the ARB Simpson 3 Roof Top Tent! :reddance: I'm stoked, and still cant believe I won. I will go pick it up tomorrow, and I'll update my build thread with the details.

EDIT: 1/17/2011 It will be two weeks before ARB ships it, I guess I will have to wait...

It was cold and very wet.

I guess I should add my pictures, although I didn't take any either until the end, right before I left to come home I got a couple of pics of my buddies I came with, although they didn't do any wheeling their 4runners, but rode with me.

My buddy did get a short video of me coming down a hill on Friday with my iphone, it had a nice side slope that was a little sketchy, but turned out not to be a big deal.
