Didn't see a thread anywhere in this forum about one of the best Toyota events ever!

Lone Star Toyota Jamboree | January 15th - 17th 2010, Gilmer, Texas |

Check it out! I went last year and it was an absolute blast. It's a 7.5 hour drive for me from NW Arkansas but I wouldn't miss it. I highly recommend this event to anyone. If you just like to trail ride to the serious buggies. Last I checked there were over 100 trucks registered.

Great! It'll be good to see another 3rd Gen out on the trails. Have you been before?

Make sure to wave as you ride by Xterra camp. That is were the AR-TTORA chapter will be camping.

What makes this event so much fun is there is something for everyone to do. Here is a pic of my not so modified 4Runner on the trails:

If you want you can sign up to ride with a group that will ride on trails rated for how modified your vehicle is. The group I went with rode mostly 1,2, and 3 rated trails. Only reguired 4x4, mild lift and armor was advised but as you can see I have none. Here is a shot of the group I rode with.

And you can't forget the Rock Garden. There is a competition in which the rig fastest over/through the rocks wins. Pretty simple but fun to watch.

I am planning on going, it will be my first trip. I am also new to this site, and new back to Dallas, TX. Came from Colorado so I miss the four wheeling there!

Anyways, for those who have been, does T4R.org have a place at the Jamboree? Like a certain camping area, parking area or something? Just wanted to meet and make new friends with 4runner people in Texas!

I can't say for sure. Cuz I'm not sure who runs this site and if they do any promoting of the forum like some of the other guys, i.e. TTORA. There will be alot of TX TTORA guys out there. They are the ones who pretty much put this thing on, I think. This will be my 2nd time to go.

I might go. I will be working in San Angelo, which is 7.5 hours away. I have the lift, winch, and recovery gear with me at all times. I too, miss that good CO. offroading.

To answer some of the questions, yes dogs are allowed (leash recommended), and even without 4wd, you should be able to do some of the mild trails. Or if you want to ride some of the more extreme trails, there is always someone that you can crawl in with. I will have room for a couple of riders if needed. This is my first Jamboree, but I have been wheeling at the park several times. There are currently 162 rigs entered with about 300 attending. It is put on by the Toyota Trail Riders of Texas. They have a camp-site on the access road straight across from the designated "playground" area for ATV's. There is not a T4R camp-site, but there are still many places to pitch a tent, or hook up an RV. I will be getting there Thursday PM and setting up camp at the TTROT camp and will be there through Sunday for the whole event. For those coming, please make sure you come by and say hi.
