Long/Misleading Lead Times on GOBI racks.

Nice. When did you get updated? I'm at 18 weeks. Didnt order through gobi.
Ordered through Gobi last September, going on 24 weeks now, I did get an email last week saying that my rack was going into production and that it would ship "in the next several weeks". I'm hoping to get it by April in time for spring time.
Wait wasn't too bad for me because I went into it expecting this type of wait so i ordered and basically forgot about it. Still ridiculous how long it's taken though. :noidea:

I wouldn’t waste my time with Gobi, having bought then sold one of their racks. Their customer service is so pathetic that it’s almost as if they are trying to be as terrible as possible. Once you do get the rack, hope you never need anything from them again. It’s almost like a tv comedy show where they all have a good laugh after taking a customers call, then throw the paperwork away.
I did order some accessories directly from gobi and they really emphasized AT LEAST 8 weeks a few times. After 2-3 weeks I just got my email that my awning bracket and touch up paint processing at least went through. That was a surprise. I may have all my accessories before I get my rack!
Never got an update. Just a call from the shipping company a day before to arrange delivery.
I can not wait for that phone call.

I will say that they are totally worth the weight. I use my Gobi rack for so many different things, I can't image not having it. I've also seen a lot of other racks out there and none look as good as the Gobi. Also, some, like the FrontRunner rack, aren't as versatile. With the Gobi you can fit any accessory you can think of. With other racks, like the FrontRunner, you are mostly limited to accessories they make themselves because of how things mount to that rack. Even with the long wait, you won't regret getting one. I will admit that I got mine years ago and the wait wasn't long at all, but if I had it to do over again, I would wait.

It would have to be a damn good product, which is the case here. There is a reason it is worth waiting for and that reason is also the reason why there is a wait. Too much demand.

Ordered mine in March 2018, got it in August 18. I promise as much as it sucks to wait, it is so worth it, the build quality is exceptional. Wait times are on par with a company that takes pride in their product.

Haven't run into that problem with my FR. I have dozens of eye bolts that I got on amazon and can strap anything down. Problem I had with the gobi is that needed adjustable crossarms and at the time wasn't a way to secure them (lock them)to the rack. Sure you can lock your equipment to the bar, but could just remove the whole bar. Snowboard rack goes right on, bike rack, kayak rack, everything. Only thing I purchased from them were the awning mounts.

I can second this. I had to wait about 4 months. Totally worth it...

My order was completed on 4/9/19. After seeing one on a 4Runner at the "stealership", the wait will be worth it. Plus, they are a Colorado company and happy to support a local company.
