Long/Misleading Lead Times on GOBI racks.

I made my order with gobi online like 3 weeks ago. Today I got a call from Alex to complete my order. She stated a minimum 8-12 week wait time [emoji848]
 
My order was confirmed on Jan 17th and they charged my credit card on April 17th (2 days ago). Called them and was informed it was being packaged and sent off to freight. Hopefully should be here in the next 2 weeks.
 
Ordered mine 01/03. Confirmed 01/16. Received an email stating it is in the queue on 04/06. No charge on the CC yet. Hopefully it ships this month.

I don't think they run an organized operation, I honestly believe they make them at whatever pace they can and then dole them out to whoever bugs them the most. Mine took 24 weeks (if I remember right) because I basically ordered then never followed-up or asked for status, and it just showed up one day.
 
Of the 4 local friends of mine that have 4runners (myself included), 3 of us now have Gobi racks.. all this year. I'd say they're just busy.

It's worth the wait.. just sit back and relax.

Just got the call from freight that the rack is being delivered tomorrow. For me it was just about exactly 3 months from confirmation to scheduled delivery. Once I reached the point where I could request updates, I called them to get the status and within a couple days got an email that it was being finished up and preparing to go to freight. Coincidence? Not sure but worth calling if you've been waiting a bit to try to push it along.
 
Got the call from the freight company Monday. Rack is being delivered today.

So, all told...

Ordered Stealth Rack with Sunroof insert

Ordered last week of January
Confirmed a few days later
Notified First week of April rack was going into production
Billed 4/29
Delivered 5/3

Much shorter time than expected.
 
Delivery is finally scheduled for this Friday (6/21). That'll make it an even 18 weeks from my order confirmation (2/15) for a stealth no-rise with sunroof cutout (no insert).

No posts here in awhile, but here's my timeline thus far:

27 April ordered
30 April called back to confirm order
Mid May I emailed them to add awning brackets to order. Got an email back same day, no problem
Yesterday, July 22, got a call from Jamie saying it's ready to ship and paid with card.
Waiting on freight to schedule an appointment for delivery - Jamie said before the week is out it'll be here


-Stealth standard with moonroof cutout
-ladder
-ARB awning brackets
-free large toolbox

Just about 13 weeks total. Won't hold my breath as it's not here yet!

Ordered March 16th.

Arrived Friday of last week (July 19th).

Total wait 18 weeks. I called and called about questions and options so I had been staying on top of them and it got handled on time.

Stealth, no-rise option, no sunroof cutout.

They offer a free accessory of your choosing if you're an any branch of the service, or a first responder. You just have to mention it when placing the order and email them a copy of an official ID.

I almost opted for the sunroof insert but decided on the large toolbox instead. I use the sunroof all the time here in SC so I'll get on that one later

I'm literally sitting here at home waiting for my order to arrive today hah. 30 minutes to go!

Gobi Lead Times

I received the call in week 16 to take payment. It then took the Gobi chosen courier 2 weeks to collect and deliver the rack. So total time 18 weeks.
