Long/Misleading Lead Times on GOBI racks.

Oooooh! I order May 8th! Means I'm getting CLOOOOOSSSSE

No posts here in awhile, but here's my timeline thus far:

27 April ordered
30 April called back to confirm order
Mid May I emailed them to add awning brackets to order. Got an email back same day, no problem
Yesterday, July 22, got a call from Jamie saying it's ready to ship and paid with card.
Waiting on freight to schedule an appointment for delivery - Jamie said before the week is out it'll be here


-Stealth standard with moonroof cutout
-ladder
-ARB awning brackets
-free large toolbox

Just about 13 weeks total. Won't hold my breath as it's not here yet!

They offer a free accessory of your choosing if you're an any branch of the service, or a first responder. You just have to mention it when placing the order and email them a copy of an official ID.

I almost opted for the sunroof insert but decided on the large toolbox instead. I use the sunroof all the time here in SC so I'll get on that one later

I'm literally sitting here at home waiting for my order to arrive today hah. 30 minutes to go!

As another data point. My order for a standard full-length (no rise) rack with a sunroof cutout was confirmed on Mar 7th. It will be delivered on Aug 2nd, making total wait time of OVER 21 WEEKS!! I am a bit frustrated with this as the summer is over half over, and I don't have my rack yet.

I hope it is as awesome as what everyone claims it to be!

*Update 1: Received an email stating the rack is ready to be packed and picked up by the freight company, November 21 2019.

I did receive the rack on Friday, but went out of town for the weekend before I had a chance to look at it. So it is still boxed up in my garage. I've got a busy week this week, but I am hoping to start working on the install in a couple of days.

How long did it take you to install yours?

A few hours over the course of two days. I installed the 'feet' on day one but ran into problems when the bracket fell into the headliner (only an issue for 19 Pros) and had to creatively fish it out. Also it was about 100 degrees out and in direct sunlight so I finished the next morning. It was a pretty easy install overall though!

*Edit* - I'd also recommend using black silicone when installing the rubber pads, just as added insurance against leakage. I've had no issues so far with 3-4 good downpours, but I made sure to place beads between every single layer when installing those brackets.

Just place the order and try to forget about it, makes the time go by faster.

For tracking purposes my order of a trunk lid ladder was accepted on 24 July 2019. Based on averages I expect to see the ladder in mid-November and I'm cool with that. The lady I spoke with was very up front about lead times and (now) I'm aware that the purchasing process for small fabrication shops is that your payment is used to purchase the materials for the job and quite often your job gets bundled up with several others to maximize the efficiency of the shop (makes more sense to do 5-10 ladders at a time instead of one-offs).

Yeah I got the same- don't want any lights up top either. Personally I think they're obnoxious but i'll still have the option for a small spot or something later if I want.

didn't think ill needing any other accessory for now.

I'm at 14 weeks, waiting for the ladder only. For reference, I've called, left voicemails, emailed, and filled out the status update form twice with no response from any touchpoint. Fingers still crossed it ships soon.

I made my order with gobi online like 3 weeks ago. Today I got a call from Alex to complete my order. She stated a minimum 8-12 week wait time [emoji848]

Update

My ladder arrived 8/16. Roughly 16weeks from the phone call from Gobi. The ladder I got clears the 2019 Trd Pro Rack. The entire time I never called neither did Gobi.
