Thought I'd introduce myself now that our 4Runner is once again on the move.
In January my Wife and I were out looking for a new truck to replace her Mazda Tribute. I knew we wanted a real SUV and started our search. Knowing next to nothing about the 4 Runner we went to the dealership. we looked around and could not see a 4 runner anywhere, I was thinking maybe Toyota no longer sold the 4 Runner in Canada as I could not remember seeing anything looking like a new model on the road in recent memory.
Our sales guy tried to steer us towards a Highlander or a rav4 but were we having none of that. He found one on the lot a Limited. Test drove that night and I came back the next day and signed the papers.
He advised us at that time that it was going to take him a month to get ours as there were none in Ontario that meet our needs. No problem as the lease on my Wife's Tribute was not up for another 2 months.
Well a month went by no word on the truck I call and I'm advised our Truck was in Ontario!!. Sweet not long now as we live in the GTA.
Another week goes by still nothing I call the dealership and am now advised they made a mistake and the Truck is still in Vancouver, and is being held by the Federal Government on the Transport for some import issue.
I was upset to say the least. Around this time I also find out that Toyota Canada is offering a 500 discount on the 4runner. I left a message with our sales guy stating I wanted the discount, he advised me he was not sure he could make that happen.
Which leads to today just got off the phone the truck is on rail and should be here in 1 to 2 weeks and there going to honour the Toyota discount.
We ordered an SR5 in magnetic grey metallic.
Since we started looking at a 4Runner I've been here everyday learning as Much as I can.
Sorry for the long intro post. I of course will post pictures in a couple of weeks when my new toy is in the driveway.
