I bought my 99 T4R a year ago. It was in pretty good shape. But it had a lot of miles, so I figured I would do a bunch of preventative maintenance. A quick google search brought me here. Man what a wealth of information. Thanks to everyone who has contributed. Fast forward to today, I was doing a little research on some things I need to buy for my rig, low and behold, google brought me right back here. So figured I would register!

Oh -- I guess I have seen the "This thread is worthless without pictures" thing. So here is mine. 1999 SR5 4WD. Body is straight. No dings or scratches. Leather still in superb shape. All stock. I don't do any wheelin or anything, so no plans to lift it or anything. We do some camping, light trail riding now and again on fishing or hunting trips.
The lighting must make it look blue. It is actually black. And yes. Nothing major. Oil change, transmission fluid change, differential fluids, new radiator, hoses, air filter, and plugs and wires. I remembered reading about LBJ failure which was the reason I came back to read up on it. I am ordering those today. I have always done my own wrenching when I can. Once I get the LBJ on, I am going to go on and replace the water pump and timing belt. I drive cars until they simply don't drive anymore and am planning on driving this one the exact same way. I squeeze every cent of my investment out of vehicles! LOL.

Very nice, I was torn between a 3rd gen and a 4th gen... I like the boxiness and overall shape of the 3rds better, but ended up with a 4th due to the rust belt claiming most of the decent 3rd gens around here, or just making them a PITA to wrench on. I also dig the improved A-pillar design and safety features of 4th gens with my priceless heir to the throne riding in back

Nice wheels!!! If it was just me, and I lived in Texas, or some dry, non-snowy, salty heck-hole I would have gone 3rd gen all the way.

Cleveland? I bet you all deal with some salt. West Tennessee here. We rarely even see a snowflake.

Cleveland is a tale of two cities... east side gets NAILED with Lake Effect white stuff. West side gets literally 1/4 the snow, luckily thats the side I'm on. It's not too bad really... if I compare the snowfall here with my childhood home of northwest Michigan, its a joke. Here people cry when there is 4"... if it was up to your knees in Michigan that was a normal winter day. Then there are areas like Buffalo NY that got 112" last year... pure craziness.
Good luck with the ride and enjoy those camping trips! Part of the reason I got mine was to pull my parents twin axle (3200lb) camper trailer. After 2 severe thunderstorms with a toddler in the tent we said enough is enough.
