Long Travel Rock Crawling?

For a while now I have been mulling over how I want the future of my rig to look. I have flip flopped between doing a SAS or a TC Long Travel setup. I have been leaning towards the LT because I DD my truck more than I wheel it and I like having it say relatively low. My only questions are:

How does (not custom) long travel perform in the rocks? Does anyone here do any sort of rock trails (ie the Rubicon) in their long travel trucks? Also, are there any good rock crawler/LT write-ups? I have been looking without much success.
