It's only $599:lmao: and they do say "asking". I'd be really curious to know more about when the head was done, clutch, wheel bearings, brakes, struts etc. If it's all in the 'right' cycle it maybe not a bad buy at $450.

Nah, that's low mileage. Both my 4Runners have at least 1/4 million miles on them. May buy it and add it to my little Toyota museum I have going on here. We already own 3 of them.
 
I figure it was a vehicle used by a courier service. You know, someone hauling meds and such back and forth. I used to service quite a few vehicles that did this. You can guarantee it is all highway mileage. That is a plus. I found several used engines with around 82k on them for $550 shipped. I need a fuel sipper. I may get a new job with a commute of 2 hrs each way.
 
MK3 Jetta or Passat TDI's, 1k mile tanks on the passat if you drive it right, 50ish MPG. it will be like $3k for a lower milage model.
 
I saw that thing a few days ago, almost bought it too! I was thinking it would be a good commuter car. For only $599 you really cant go wrong!

If it's gone that far it's likely to deliver another 100K of fine service. I personally would not even hesitate at that low a price.

Scrappers pay $300-350 alone for a vehicle here with engine and tranny. At most you'd be out a couple hundred if it dumped on you right after purchase. A few interior trim pieces sold off and you could potentially even make money on it.

Let us know how that new job possibility is working out....
