Ya its only $30, plug n play, no flicker... poured boiling water into the ballast just to prove to a friend and his $100 kit ..plug it back.. daylight!

A week no UPS?? no worry its only $30K...whats the big deal
 
I bought a set of these as the first stage of an eventual projector retrofit. Seemed like a reasonable price to performance ratio. I paid the extra for the high-low version.

There are lots of complaints on the internet about them being slow to ship and in this hyper-fast society, a full business week (which is what it took them for my order) is really unreasonable but since I expected it, I didn’t mind as much as some.

The company sends out a ton of emails on the order but my ISP spam filter grabbed them all. I think it is because if you look at the return address, it is not a properly formatted address.

I haven't installed them yet but have a couple of comments.

One irritant with the kit is that it doesn't come with mounting brackets. I contacted DMM tuning support and was told that the kit had double sided tape and cable ties for mounting. I finally found them packed in with the bulbs. Seems like a poor way to mount anything in the engine compartment and definitely won't look stock. I ended up ordering a couple of brackets from this guy on eBay. They look like the same ones you can buy from other dedicated HID websites for less. $2 each. DMM should at least have them as an option when you order the kit.

The other thing is it looks like the harness is going to be tight. I had originally assumed I would be able to mount the passenger side ballast someplace on the fender but the harness is too short. Also with the high-low function the ballast has to be close to the headlight to make the connection. I'm pretty certain that I'm going to end up cutting up the harness to lengthen the cables.

I plan to do a write up once I get all the parts.
 
Anyone have any pics of this HID kit on their 4runner? I'm interested to see what the quality is like. I've heard mixed reviews and have been wanting to get an HID kit for a while, just can't decide which company to go with.
 
YA there is a delay only bc they sell so many kits to ppl. I want to get a hi/lo kit for now and when i do a retrofit im gonna get a lo kit only but ya i heard alot of ppl complain about the mounting hardware though i would nvr trust double sided sticky tape. Bracket would work but i read that alot of guys say that the industrial velcro is a great solution to the prob. Wat color did u end up getting? im assuming u got the 35w kit...

These are cheap HID Kits. Of course we can not compare it to OEM ones installed in expensive cars. I can not tell the difference with other aftermarket HIDs, They say expensive kits have better quality..but even those that cost $100 or more have also complains.

I installed a DDM Tuning 35W/5k in My fogs. The 2003 have projector fogs for hallogens so the output is not comparable to those with OEM HID projectors. Atleast an improvement from my yellowish lighting, and just enough for my needs. Also fog beams don't go far unlike if installed in the Low beams. Though mine is still functioning, I believe its a risk if you rely on aftermarket HID kits with questionable quality(even those expensive kits) and you don't have other lights incase..What I mean is if my HID will die while driving in bad weather, I still have my low beam and high beam.

its kool dude and ya looks good. i was planning on getting the lo/hi 5000k and im glad i saw ur color bc it looks jsut wat i want. Cant decide on the 35w or 55w ballast... ive heard mixed reviews on that too.
 
I have a 55W/8000K Hi/Lo DDM kit that I pulled out of my Honda before selling it, planning on putting it in my Limited.

hey zcruiser, have u ever been pulled over for the 55w when it was still in ur honda?

nice pics boost, ya i think i want a little more blue then that so im gonna go with 5000k color... thnx for the pics bc i wasnt sure but the reference helped.
 
i had 55w 6000k in my 08 civic and with the brighter light output they look more like 5000k... so the 5000k 55w might look closer to a 4000-4300k... just a heads up..
 
ya i figured if i get the 55w kit then id go 6000k but i jsut dont want it to be blinding to where i end up getting a ticket. and yes ive heard non factory HIDs are illegal but i dont think ill get a ticket unless they are super bright and i blind a cop.
 
eh... i never got flashed and i never got pulled over for my lights... i did get pulled over for no front plates at night and the cop didnt say anything about the lights... its not too bad here in austin
