Looking at a 4Runner Need advice

Hi,

I'm checking out a 1999 Runner SR5 tomorrow and I need some advice on price and the overall condition.

According the the owner and Carfax the runner is a one owner with 122K, Auto, 4WD ect. The overall condition of the vehicle is in really good based on the pics I received. Regular documented maintinence. However, in running a Carfax report it came back that it was in a rear end accident about 2 years ago. I asked the owner about it and he said that it was minor damage that resulted in the hatch and rear bumper being replaced. He has the repair work order.

Should I be concerned about this type of accident? What else do I need to look for? Also, he is asking 7,000 for it. I was thinking I could get it for at least 5,500.

Take the 4runner to a mechanic that you trust and get it checked out. Drive the truck on the highway, see if there are any vibrations, also drive it around town see how it stops and handles. If all checks out then negotiate to a price you feel comfortable with. Good Luck!

Price seems high to me.

I agree with taking it to a mechanic.
