Looking at used 2010

I am going to look at a used 2010 SR5 2WD in white. Options are the convenience package, the sliding cargo bay, power seats and the upgraded radio. Asking 29,500 with 5500 miles on it. What would you guys advise as a good price to offer. Carfax is clean.

I would be interested in the responses to this thread as I am looking to sell my SR5 and would be good to see what others think is a decent selling price?
 
I think the 29500 is a little high if it is a USED vehicle. I'd knock another 2k off--27600. This would put you at 15% off MSRP of a new one and put you in the used car price range. If it was me though, I'd shoot even lower at 26k--20%....Maybe even 25k--77%(might be pushing it though). It's crazy that there is used 2010 4runner.

Assuming this has a V6... it doesn't sound like that great of a deal... about $2500 off the MSRP of a new one. I would think you'd be able to get at least 2K off a new one... and probably shouldn't be a stretch to get $2500 off... making the used vehicle not so attractive, IMO. If the used vehicle was 28K, I think that'd be more inline.

Do you know why it's for sale?

Can't help it, I'm always suspicious when something that nice and that new is for sale.

Pretty much agree with what fx said. Calculate the MSRP and deduct $2500 for what new would cost, and go from there. I'd certainly think another $2K off. If not, just buy a new one.

You sure you want 2WD? In many parts of the country that would hurt resale.

MSRP is around, 32k for that, correct? I KNOW the person did not pay that, based one on the deals people have gotten here I could easily see them walking paying what they are asking for it. With 5500 miles I would see if they would take 25k or less :)

I'm also kind of curious why you want to sell it. I'm waiting for mine to get delivered. Is there something specific about the vehicle you can't stand?
 
For several of those asking why I am selling...I bought my SR5 back in Dec right off the truck. I like everything about the vehicle (gas mileage, looks, ride, towing capacity, etc). The one thing that I can get used to is the driving position/comfort. I find the seats to be the most uncomfortable of any vehicle I have ever owned. Plus, right leg comfort. I am a tall person (6-3) and the location of the gas pedal to the center console and the way the console is curved, it puts pressure on your lower leg or forces you to hold you leg perfectly straight. I gave it six months to get used to but as time goes on, all I get is frustrated and uncomfortable. So...time to move on. Great vehicle...just not for me.
 
I understand exactly what you're saying... I had a similar issue w/ my last leased vehicle... it was perfect in every way, except I couldn't straighten out my left leg on long road trips (any drive over 30minutes killed me) which sucked. Ultimately when I traded it for my 4Runner... it was well below the allocated mileage (and I did have equity @ trade)... but it was a complete waste.

Too bad you, like me, had to find out after the purchase. Personally I love the front seating and legroom on the 2010 4R... now the rear seats, that's another story... luckily I won't be in the back very often.

What do you think you'll get after your dump your 4R?

I too am struggling to get confortable with the seat. I love the truck, but it seems like there is too much lumbar support, even at the lowest level, for me to get confortable. My back is killing me after longer drives. This isn't something that I noticed in any of my test drives, and I went on 7 or so test drives. I had a similar issue with my WRX back in 05. I finally got used to it, and i felt very confortable, so hopefully, the same will happen here as well.
 
there are several used 10 4runners on ebay. dont know who would be selling them that quickly. they are mostly early ones looking at the vin #'s

Took me a while to get used to it as well. My lower back was killing my at first, felt like the seat had too much lumbar. Now I find it really comfortable (no added lumbar!).
 
on an unrelated note... sounds like you need a good Chiropractor... so you can feel more comfortable.

It is interesting to hear you guys think the seat has too much lumbar. I have the lumbar on max for my comfort. I don't have the best back and usually max out the lumbar in any car I drive.
