Looking at yet another 3rd Gen ...

Dude., I would pick that thing up. I just bought my 01 limited in VA for 9600 it had 150k miles on it with brand new tires. Maint had been done as well. I was in need of a vehicle fast so I didn't get but 2 weeks to look for one. The reason I was willing to pay a premium price was because the vehicle was in excellent shape a and I felt that if the previous owners cared enough to keep it in such good shape it would last. It had also been in a minor accident in the rear and repaired but I could not tell, and I know what to look for. And in the month I have owned some one has recently hit it in a parking lot and left as well. I am still trying to decide if I want to report it to insurance. If it is clean and well taken care I would scoop it up and not look back.
 
What happened to the white 4R you were looking at two weeks ago? Couldn't agree on price or was it sold? We all know the good ones go fast.

Yep, mine wanted a light color as well and cloth seats would have been fine with her. She certainly wasn't expecting a limited necessarily. But I told her anything was in play as long as it was less than what we sold her previous car for. I got 11.5 for her car so I knew most any 3rd gen was going to be less than that. It was nice peace of mind knowing I had a little "spare cash" in the budget for things we might need or want on the new vehicle, like DMV taxes, title fees, fixing the cut seat, and a new double din stereo with ipod interface, and a new radiator and misc parts.

I didn't realize you were looking an e-locker. I didn't even know to look for one and just got lucky and it had it. Although, I doubt she'll ever push the button or need to. However, when I get it back, I may very well be using it. :D
 
It does look nice.

The only drawback would be the black color. Atlanta can be rather toasty in the summer.

I'd do $8500 and bring them cash for it; I have seen ones with less miles on ATL CL for less money.

And you've definitely got a couch to crash on. Better yet, I've got a ton of friends up North in Bellingham. We could stay up there and hit up Baker.

Still sitting on his lot ... he wouldn't budge from $10,989, so I passed.

Agreed, but that's what AC's for, right? Besides, she'll be in the mountains most of the time ... plus this thing looks like a cherry.

And thanks to all for the input on the price ... it's hard to be sure, but I'm thinking that the region has a lot to do with what seems like a high price (at least high in some parts of the country). But driving 10 hours each way to save a few hundred bucks doesn't seem to be the best approach with gas prices the way they are .... :frisky: (that's me getting screwed)

It's done ... I'm the proud owner of a "new" 2002 4WD SR5 Sport. Went ahead and did the timing belt/drive belts/water pump, put silverstar headlight and fog lights in and ordered a couple of wet okole seat covers. I've also figured out that I'll have to replace some lights in the dash ... ECT, rear window, etc. It's fun to drive and, most importantly, my daughter is thrilled with it.

Congrats on your purchase! I'm jealous of your daughter! I was lucky to even get my dad to go with me when I looked at my 4Runner haha
