hey looks familiar! ha Same as mine and I love it! I'm just about to hit 150,000 on mine it's it still runs like a champ! Seems like a pretty legit buy and I'm sure you could talk him down on the price! There always room for negotiation from the asking price! Good luck

price is just a bit high but low mileage

Well it says it is a manual tranny but clearly it's not... the mileage is good.

See if they would throw in a one year or more warranty just for grins. Not even enough mileage to have done the timing belt/water pump yet. But by age it needs to be maintained and probably has not been.

If you really want an auto tranny?- for that kind of money you should be able to get into a 99 Limited of about same mileage I would think. Limiteds have leather seating and the 99 upgrades to the cupholders for instance, and the headlights and a few other little doo dads

I am noticing the power antenna is up so it is likely "stuck" up. Overall though that is a pretty clean unit, but slightly high priced.

I'm a sucker for the white too just like you two...

thanks for the responses, within 100 miles there isn't much at all, and everything seems priced so high. I'm gonna keep looking and i wouldn't mind traveling for the right one.. Auto or manual doesn't matter to me. The limited is cool i dont really like all the wood look but i guess that's something I could change if i wanted to.

For that kind of money buy an already built rig, or by one cheaper and build it with the money you save.

Way too expensive in my opinion. Like rusm said, you should be able to get either a 4runner that has been upgraded or a newer one for that kind of money.

mileage is nice an low but i would look elsewhere. i too have the same truck with a few other options but i did not pay anywhere near 10k for it but mine has 245k on it :driving:

search around it took me over a month to find mine and i was looking over the whole country. Ended up finding it within 20 miles of me just as i was going to fly out and get one. I spent quite a few hours in the car driving to look at runners for a month

good luck

I know different parts of the country see different prices, but just to let you know what's out there...

I paid $5,700 for a 1999 Limited in excellent condition. 140,000 miles though. I say keep looking.

I just ran across a salvaged title e-locker 2000 4runner that looked great. I think they wanted 6k for it and it had 110k miles on it. Let me know if you want me to dig around for it!

Thanks guys I also think it is really expensive, I think KBB said like 7k.. I would like to buy private party, but I still owe on my civic so i wanted to just trade it in.. It just sucks they are so expensive still

Yeah, forget the salvage title one! Not worth you're time at all... It would be practically unsellable if you ever decided to get rid of it. $10,000 is a lot of money for a 98', try and talk him down cause the mileage is really low which is nice!

You could see what Carmax would give you on your trade in. It's free to get a quote and they'll pay you the same price whether you buy a car from them or not. Then try to find a good 3rd gen in the $3500-$6000 range private party.
