Looking for a beefier alternator

Here's another alternator option, plus you can get all the wiring for the big 3 upgrade in the stage 2 kit. I was thinking about going this route in the future (hopefully soon). I'd probably get the 200 amp version. Prices seem decent and they are direct bolt in too.

Just remember your 300a alternator will almost Never charge at 300a. Even when I drain my battery down with fridge over night they can only take 150amp for a short amount of time before they start throttling back because its getting full. when battery are 80% full they can only handle like 10-20amps charging

Thanks but this isn't my first towing rodeo. I always charge the trailer batteries before taking off and I don't run a heavy load when camping. The heaviest usage comes from the furnace when it's cold and I already have plans to add a 2nd trailer battery so I have 84 Ah to use at 50% discharge (decided against the 6V batteries due to weight and space loss). And with a 200W solar panel, a Morningstar battery charger, 4 gauge house wiring, etc I am pretty sure I can charge to 100% in less than 6 hours on a sunny day (and we have plenty of those here in NM).

The beefier alternator is just to maintain the charge during transport and not to over tax the 80A stock alternator to the point my truck battery suffers for it.

The only problem with having an Electronic Technician, Electrical Engineering, and Boy Scout background is trying to over come the over whelming desire to "be prepared" and eliminate every source of weakness that I can so easily spot whenever I pop the hood on a vehicle.

Now this is what I am talking about. Covers everything I was worried about in a no mod package. I am definitely going to order their stage 1 kit but might go a different way with the alternator since it only comes with 1 year 12k mile warranty.

Damn. I wonder if they are worth it. I couldn't find any specs on it other than produces 300% more power over stock.
