i also snapped these photos of damage to the rear and passenger side.
is it worth it with 216k?

216k miles really isn't that bad. It's gotta lot of life left on it. The interior doesn't look too bad. As long as 4WD engages properly, it'd be a great wheeler.

I don't think there are any huge alarm bells on it. Yes, it's rusty and beat up a bit, but IF you can get it for a good price, then go for it. Just know what you are getting yourself into. With that many miles, you most likely will have/want to do a lot of maintenance on it and it will be a lot more difficult given the amount of rust.

Why not get a mechanic to inspect the drivetrain and get a body shop to give an estimate on the body work as well as an appraisal of the rust. If it totals out to still be a good deal, then maybe not so bad. I would definitely try to get for less than that price though.

first place i always check when buying any thing is the underneath of the vehicle, thats where the big expensive rust problems are and around here rust is almost guaranteed on anything older than 10-15yrs. If that's all it need for work and you can do some body work yourself id say go for it if your in a rush but there is always better deals that come up if your patient!

my question really was if 3600 was a good price i personally was thinking 1700

A "good price" is relative... it sounds like it's not a good price for you since the number you have in mind is less than half of what they're asking.

If the damage is limited to the door panel (your pictures are pretty blurry... was that an ironic ode to your username?!), then it's no biggie. If it's the rocker or quarter panel, I wouldn't touch it. How'd they do that anyway?

Also, how big is that rust spot and is it the only one? As gornish_luck said, the undercarriage is a good indication of how long the rig will last...

Just FYI usually when someone says everything works in the title they usually mean there is something wrong and they think they can hide it... or everything works... for now

also with rust like that on the body I can only imagine what the frame is like
