Looking for blacked out tail light DIY guide

I have seen a couple of DIY guides on the forums for blacked out head lights, but is there one for tail lights?

Option 1: Niteshade
First, buy some:

1. Removing the substrate from the vehicle is recommended for ease of application. Prepare surface by removing any oil, grease, wax or road tar. For best results wipe down with a crease and wax remover and a clean cloth to clean the surface.

2. Mask of surrounding areas to protect from overspray. Use at temperatures between 60 degrees F and 95 degrees F and when humidity is less than 60%.

3. Shake can vigorously for one full minute after mixing ball moves freely. Shake can for 10 seconds after each minute of use. To spray, hold can parallel and 8-10 inches from surface to be painted and use in an even, sweeping motion.

4. Apply one light coat or just enough to change lens color. DO NOT exceed more than 3 coats or light may not show through. Dries to tough in 1 hour. Can be handled in 3 hours. Cures completely in 24 hours. Covers approximately 12-14 square feet.

Thanks. How would this method compare to putting the lights in the oven, pulling them apart, etc for headlights? It seems like it would be much easier to spray nite-shades on the exterior of the light without pulling anything apart.

Not so sure the oven idea will work for these. Quick glace at the lights doesn't seem to show any signs of silicone for the housings which leads me to believe that they're vulcanized (plastic to plastic bonding which is inseperable).

It doesnt compare at all. The headlight seperation method is because the lens is clear and you want it to remain that way while painting the interior. Since the tails are red you need to cover them (spray or film) to get the blackout look.
