Looking for parts

Hey there! Awsome site... I dreaded never finding a site dedicated to the 4Runner.

Now, I have a problem that I hope various member of this forum can help with. I hope, hehehehe.

The rear gate window was broken about a month ago and so far I have had no luck in finding anyone that has one for sale. I have tried the salvage yard and various oem dealer but the only thing that they have is the actual gate itself (with the glass in it). I don't need the gate, just the rear window.

Do anyone know who or where I can find a rear gate window that will fit into a '91 4Runner SR5? Do other vehicle share this window? And lastly... if I can't find a replacement within my budget, do I really need it (legally in Wisconsin) and what are the alternative (Mod) that can be done.

I know it is alot to ask but if anyone can help, I would appreciate it.

Try E-bay but just the glass will be tricky, Did you try a auto glass dealer or the Toyota dealer at least they could give you a idea.

there must be a replacement.

Your '91 will share the glass with at least '90 thru '95, possably newer too.

Both of these will ship parts anywhere in the US.

A possability, tho I would not use it for a perminent soloution, you may be able to fit a sheet of plexiglass in there. At least to keep the weather out untill you can source the correct window.

I had a quote the other day and it was for 450. HOLY SH*T!!! For a peice of glass... erm... wheres that Fleet Farm? Plexi Glass!!! Here I come!
