I don't know that I would ever own a vehicle that is black because I live in Arizona and it would just add to the hot days (116 deg), but I love the color... it looks great!

i'm in tempe and....
I got a black 04 sr5 in feb. this year. For some reason, the summer heat was cake this year. I had a 98 camaro prior to this, with tinted windows, and it got much warmer inside during summer. I had the dealer tint my windows this time, and aparently, it is much higher quality, and it blocks out so much of the heat.
In the camaro during summer, I could feel the heat of the sun thru the tint. I didn't feel any heat during summer in the 4runner.
Whoever the dealer used for tint has some good stuff!!!

Thanks for the info - actually, I don't know why I would think it would be a problem. My 4Runner is dark green with a dark green interior and with dark tint we had no problem this past summer either. I guess it's just a mind-set from growing up here that black is bad in the desert.
