Yes I know, probably million threads....

I'm looking for cheap decent rack. Looking to possible have a 33" spare tire or just camping gear sometimes.

I have found few good lookings ones for cheap. Anyone own these or have any oppinions ??
Multi-Purpose Rooftop Cargo Rack
Car Roof Rack with Wind Fairing

I really like the look of this plus it's aluminum and capacity of 200lb. Aluminum Roof Rack - Summit Cargo Gear
What ya think ?

Upon more observation the aluminum looks huge. 7 " deep. I'm liking the multi purpose rack nice size not bulky

Does a rack have to be deep ? What are common sizes.

I had a rola, they are nice and cheap. I advise that if you are going to put your spare in the roof that you get aftermarket crossbars. I did the same thing you want to do and my crossbars broke, luckily not on the highway lol I've since sold it cause the look got old and I like to park on roofed parking lots

Which is Rola?

I have the 2nd link, the "Car roof rack with wind flaring" I bought it from the same site 2 years ago. It comes unassembled so you have to put it together. I didnt do the best job so it would rattle a little here and there when the car was at a stop. So i brought it to a body shop when i was getting work done and forked over $75 and they welded it. Now its an amazing piece and i use it all the time. If you can get it sturdy enough i totally recommend it for a cheap rack, plus its super easy to take on and off for when you want it or not. I recently drilled spot lights into it

I have the Rola as well but I hated how it sat up so high. I made some mounts out of aluminum to keep it lower down, welded it together to keep the water out of it and welded some light tabs on as well.

My table fits up there perfectly.

that looks like a nice rack. It looks low profile? Do you think it can support a spare tire ? How do u like it ? How is it driving down the highway with it ? Noisy ?

Be sure to check Craigslist before you buy any thing. I found a yakima load warrior and the guy was asking $150. I got there and he didnt have the mounting hardware and I ended leaving with it for $65 lol.

The noise doesn't bother me much because I have my music up anyway and I think most of the noise comes from the wind hitting the lights. If you used the actual wind deflector it should be good. I kept a tire up there for a few days and don't have a problem. My issue was my fuel milage. It seemed worse with the tire up there.

I love this rack! I bought a table on amazon that fits perfectly. After welding it together, putting light tabs on it and adding a mounting place for a flag while you're on the dunes, it's perfect for everything I need.

I think after all is done and said I'm in for about $200 including lights and wiring.

Can you give me the dimensions of this rack? Im liking that it fits most of your space between the sunroof and back hatch

As far as I can tell, with its rounded edges, it is about 57 in long, 40 in wide and 5 in deep. My mounts make it so it sits 6 in total above the roof rather than on the factory cross bars.

Which table fits the Rola

I love your idea of putting a camp table up top of the Rola rack. Do you remember which one you bought that fit well? Thanks!

sell you mine

Surco safari basket. Its 24" x 60"

I too have a safari rack that I got for free, I like it a ton and there's tons of things you can do with it, I was lucky enough to get mine with custom low profile mounts my uncle(OwyheeRat) made (he has a 4Runner and he's the one that gave me the rack, thanks!) and I personally think it's an awesome rack. Hope this helps! Pictures...
