Looking to tint windows.

I really want to tint my windows. Not ridiculously dark but dark enough that you cant make out who is driving - just shadows. I was thinking about putting 20% on all the windows. Any idea how this will look? What is a reasonable price?

Great thanks that matches almost perfectly.

So, whats a reasonable price for 2 windows?

The place I go is very high quality, and they normally charge $90 for 2 front windows. I get that for about $70. So I would say don't pay any more than $60-$70.

You should consider doing your back windows too. A lot of shops will offer a package, like all 7 windows for $169 or $189. The back windows are only colored, so you don't have any UV protection from them, and it makes it much more comfortable for your passengers in the back. You should think about doing 20% all around.

HB 4X4 is absolutely correct...he's the King Of Tint.

He even admit that he went to the tint shop like 7 times & spent over $1,000 to have it just right.

I am looking at this too when I get some more cash flow.

I called around and the cost depends entirely on the type of tint they use. Got prices ranging from from $200 - $400+ !

Of course the most expensive was 'the most long lasting and UV blah blah protectant material from Sweden or something ridiculous. I forget the exact terminology.

Thanks for the input guys. I called the tint shop in my town, $110 for the front 2 windows and $330 for all of them.

I going to have to wait until my birthday, as I'd rather pay the premium to have it done right. Ill get 20% on the fronts and 15% on the backs (do they even make 15%)

I just did the front windows on my 08 SR5. It cost $10 in tint and about 2 hours of my time. I could have done it quicker but didn't want to rush and make a mistake. I just followed the video on Gila's website http://www.gilafilms.com/Automotive/automotive-tint-application.htm and watch the instructional video on the right side of the page for "side window" As far as the special Gila applicator solution its just soap and water. I would consider doing it yourself and spend you money on something else. here is a pic of how mine came out. Its 20%

20 % Tint
