I just received my USED Tundra Coil and strut assembly's today! They are from a 2000 Tundra TRD Access Cab, with 61640 miles. Got them off of E-bay from Nordstrom Automotive in ND USA. They shipped them quick and cost me $347.00 shipped!

You gentlemen can get a much better deal in the US, as they charged me over $167.00 in Shipping and customs fees, to ship it to Canada.


Either way, still cheaper than buying OME, or going brand new from the Stealership!

Now I gotta wait till I get a weekend off to install them!

It would seem so to you guys that are States side, but to get these used from the Stealership.....$1000.00 + taxes! OME......shipped.....around $700.00!

This was my cheapest option....I'm still pumped though!

Well, we come up there for cheap drugs, maybe you should just take a road rip down here for cheap suspension. Bring your tools and you can just put them in here, then drive them back.

If you don't mind, take a picture of the coils next to the stock coils, I'm interested to see how much taller they are.

Can't say for sure, but I'm told that the Tundra is actually not much heavier than the 4Runner.........4Runner weighs something like 4000lbs.......Tundra from the same Era is similar in weight.

This setup is very similar to what Sonoran Steel uses, only sonoran steel has different Bilstein shocks in the front.

The install won't take place for a couple of weeks, as I have other projects to attend to on the truck 1st. When I do do the install, I'll post up some pics of the process, and maybe even do a little write-up on what we did.

Actually they weigh nearly the same...You got to remember that truck bed doesn't weight very much.

Not sure yet, I'm pricing out some LC Coils from the dealer tomorow, depending on the price, I might get those. If not, I'm thinking of doing a Cornfed Spacer in the rear.......

Yeah, for less than 160$ you couldnt drive over the border buy them here and drive back with them??? couldnt you just say that you had them in the back of your 4runner when you crossed over to the US??

They were from North Dakota......closest border to me was the Michigan boarder at Sault Ste. Marie Ontario. Between gas, accomodations, and food, it would have come to about the same or more.

I'm not too worried about the price I paid, could have been much more from other sources........

Congrats on the purchase though!

It really is not the overall weight as it is the distribution of the weight. A Tundra will have the large majority of that weight over the front axle, thus heavier or stiffer shocks. That being said, I am running them on my 4Runner and I do not think the ride is all that rough. YMMV

No real advantage, at least in my mind. The main reason, is I'm pretty sure that once I put in my Tundra setup, I'm going to lose the Rake I have. I really like having Rake, and want a little more height front and back.
