Hey I was driving in our recent ice storm here in Portland and noticed that neither my rear windshield wiper nor my rear defrost worked. I was thinking it might be a fuse problem but I am not positive. My runner is only a couple of months old so its not an age problem. Has anyone experienced this? Thanks

Check your fuses. There is one fuse box under the hood and one right in front of your left knee when sitting in the drivers' seat. They are each mapped.

Does your rear gate window operate? (& does the switch light up?)

Try rolling it all the way down and then all the way up. This is how you reset it after a power loss. If this works, then you need to investigate why you had a power loss.

My dad just noticed today that the defroster for the rear side windows doesn't work. Have to check that out tomorrow. Its a 2005 by the way.

Are you sure you are not confusing that with the diversity antenna? I never really use my defogger, but I thought only the liftgate glass had one. Possibly a change between 03 and 05?

Oh that must be it. I had to disconnect my negative side of my battery to install my cold air intake. That must have screwed it up somehow. I will roll down the window and roll it back up to reset it. The defroster light did not light up btw. Thanks though I will try it tomorrow.

Yes, every time you disconnect your battery you need to reset your liftgate window and driver window by rolling them all the way up/down.
