Loss of sat radio on 2012

My sat radio worked “ok” when I bought my 2012 LE used a couple years ago, but over the past few months it has basically gone dead. Once in a while it will snag a station but mostly just says ‘No signal’.

I have made no mods to the stock system. I pulled out the head unit to check the connections but found nothing loose. I even sent a reset signal to the radio.

I did add LRD rails a couple months ago, but removed the rearmost rail just to make sure it wasn’t blocking the signal. No change.

I know the 2012 fins have the GPS in the fin so can’t replace it with a different antenna, but looking for advice on what could have happened to my sat signal.

Usually water gets inside the antenna and corrodes out inside.

Switch your plan to streaming online and run it off your phone. The sound quality is so much better from the app.

Thanks I will take the fin off and check it out.

My wife and I both have subscriptions but rarely use them both at the same time so not a bad alternative.
