Loss of throttle but healthy idle

Hey guys, was just driving home from work and was waiting at a stoplight. Light changed and I went to turn and had no throttle, but I was still in gear with a healthy idle and rolled forward picking up some speed, same as if you were in gear and had your foot off the pedals. Not sure what it could be, I'm thinking throttle actuator since we do have an electric throttle body. Any help would be appreciated.

Clean your MAF sensor

Any OBD codes? Take a volt meter and check the pedal along with the throttle body. Probably one of the two unless you have a wiring problem.

Probably not the problem on a 4th gen but those symptoms make me think fuel filter/pump.

Solved. I had the cleaned the maf previously and had no changes. Throttle actuator on the throttle body went out. Bought a new TB and 20 minutes of my time. All done

I am having an issue where the car occasionally won’t accelerate when pushing the pedal but everything seems like its running fine.. if I restart the car it works normal. This is an 03. Is that a similar problem?

2008 4 Runner V8 Throttle issue

I just had the same issue. Everything was good, then all of a sudden no acceleration when I pushed the accelerator pedal.

The idle was a tad faster than normal, and the vehicle moved very slowly when in each of the transmission selections.

Ran the fault codes and found fault codes P2103 & P2111 indicating a throttle body issue. I found a refurbished throttle body at NAPA for $395 with a $50 core charge, which I plan on purchasing when I find a ride to the NAPA store.

I removed the throttle body and found it was caked in a greasy grime. I cleaned the throttle body with ZEP degreaser, reinstalled it, and everything worked normally once again. I called NAPA and told them I won't be needing the throttle body after all, and thanked them for their time.
