Can someone tell me how or where to find the remote frequency on my 4runner. We have lost the two originals and I want to order a couple to replace them but I can't find which frequency to get. It's a 2004 model. Thanks for any help. TW

When I bought my 03, the stealership was kind enough not to give me FOBs with mine. So I bought a pair from ebay and got them programmed myself.

I did not know what frequency they were; I just made sure they worked with my year 4Runner.

I ordered a pair from Ebay ($28) for a 2004 Highlander and programmed them myself via youtube. You should be able to do the same. Just make sure the ad says they will fit your year/trim i guess.

That's what I did as well. Instructions are on here.

My "New" (Purchased about 3~4years ago when I bought the 4Runner) keyfob's FCC ID is HYQ12BBX, the "Orginal" Keyfob's FCC ID is HYQ12BAN

So I would guess something like this:

New Replacement Keyless Entry Remote Control Key Fob Rear Glass Window Compatible with HYQ12BAN, HYQ12BBX, HYQ1512Y

Should work for the vehicle. (Can't seem to find factory part numbers easily...)

Post #4 above are replicas I bought on Amazon. I paid $32 for not one, but a pair of fobs. Programmed them and everything works great.
